The General Pharmaceutical Council has published its new enforcement policy for registered pharmacies which sets out the approach and principles it will follow when using its enforcement options.
Enforcement options range from improvement action plans to statutory enforcement powers including improvement notices and conditions on registered pharmacy premises. The policy summarises the range of enforcement options available, and outlines the criteria which will be taken into account when making decisions about which enforcement option, or combination of options, to use.
The GPhC says the policy will help support consistent decision-making, and that it aligns with its wider strategic approach to regulation.
