GPhC survey aims to improve the way it regulates

The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) is seeking the views of registered pharmacists and technicians on their roles, responsibilities and job satisfaction as it attempts to improve the way it regulates the two professions.

The anonymous survey, which also focuses on work-life balance and future work plans, will inform a report to be published later this year. The GPhC says the report will be shared with pharmacy professionals so they can “understand more about (their) profession and the environment (they) are working in.”

“While the main focus of the survey is on workforce information, we also know that concerns have previously been raised about work-life balance and job satisfaction in pharmacy roles,” the GPhC said.

“We have listened to these concerns and have included questions to help build a greater understanding about the experiences of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.”

Anonymised data from the survey, which runs until July 19, will be passed to Health Education England, NHS Education for Scotland and Health Education and Improvement Wales.
