Three rotating heads file, buff and polish finger and toe nails, while a reversible function ensures use in either the right or left hand. A finger rest and varying speed settings give greater control for nail shaping, says the company. The nail system joins Carnation Silky Feet and Silky Heels. Both remove hard skin.

The Bazuka range contains a number treatment options for verrucas and warts. The original formulation, available as Bazuka Gel (P) and Bazuka Treatment Gel (GSL), has been joined by Bazuka Extra Strength (P) and Bazuka Extra Strength Treatment Gel (GSL), both of which contain over twice the amount of salicylic acid as the original formulation, and Bazuka Sub-Zero (MD), which is a freeze treatment.

Care Antifungal Nail Lacquer, containing the antifungal amorolfine 5% w/v, is clinically proven to treat mild fungal nail infections, kill nail fungus and prevent spreading, says Thornton & Ross. Amorolfine works by stopping the production of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, says the company. Without ergosterol, the cell membrane breaks down and the fungi are destroyed. Application is once weekly, with a pack lasting around three months.

Scholl has a launched a two-step kit for treating ingrowing toenails. The Ingrowing Toenail Complete Clip and Spray Kit comprises a cooling aerosol spray to help soothe the area, and a toenail straightening clip, which is applied using the nail glue provided, to help the nail grow out straight and prevent future discomfort and pain. The clip can be worn with socks and shoes. The kit (rsp £14.99) contains 10 clips, which each last a week.
