Premium Poligrip

GSK Consumer Healthcare is launching Poligrip Max Seal (40g, £3.00), which it describes as a premium innovation for the Poligrip range. A new precision nozzle allows for superior denture coverage, GSK says, and helps to deliver 36 per cent more surface coverage than regular Poligrip. The company is looking to encourage shoppers to trade up and drive brand loyalty in the category. This is the first NPD in the denture category since 2013, so presents an exciting opportunity for pharmacists, says brand manager Ben Court.

New campaign for Nicotinell lozenges

A new campaign for Nicotinell, starting this month, aims to raise awareness around how Nicotinell helps to relieve five common withdrawal symptoms of quitting (anxiety, frustration, restlessness, irritability and cravings). The Nicotinell lozenges will be supported with POS, as well as digital activity including iVideos on a variety of social media channels, which feature a series of stories about the trials and tribulations faced by those who have started or completed their journey of quitting smoking. GSK says lozenge formats are currently seeing the highest growth among all NRT oral traditional formats, “presenting a strong opportunity for pharmacists offering smoking cessation solutions”.

Numark launches dispensing error reporting service

Numark is launching a dispensing error reporting service free of charge to all members. The Pharmapod solution has been “designed to fit easily with the day-to-day operation of a busy pharmacy and support pharmacy teams in meeting the professional and legislative requirements when an incident has occurred”. The cloud-based incident reporting system allows pharmacy teams to record medication-related incidents and complete the route-cause analysis to identify contributing factors, says Numark, which will regularly update members on the trends identified.
