DRY EYE

Eye drops need to remain sterile for some time after opening. This can be achieved in two ways:

  1. By using preservatives - Benzalkonium chloride (BAK) is used as a preservative generally in older products. These last for 28 days and may have a toxic effect on the surface of the eye with prolonged use.
  2. Preservative-free bottle - Thea uses a patented bottle design and single dose units (SDUs) to avoid the use of potentially toxic preservatives
