The NPA is consulting with members on how they want to see the EU Falsified Medicines Directive implemented in pharmacy.
The directive was introduced to reduce the risk of counterfeit medicines entering the legitimate supply chain across Europe. It contains a number of measures, including tighter control of the manufacturing process, a new common logo and register for those selling medicines online and public awareness campaigns about the risk of using unregulated pharmacies.
