Community Pharmacy Scotland announced some constitutional and organisational changes at its recent council meeting earlier this month.
Matt Barclay, pharmacy services manager, has been appointed director of operations; policy and development pharmacist, Mark Feeney, has been appointed head of policy and development; and Michael Oswald, pharmacy services supervisor, becomes the head of the pharmacy services department.
In addition, there were amendments to the organisation's constitution, renaming local health board committees. Previously called contractor committees, they will now have the prefix 'community pharmacy' followed by the health board area. For example: Greater Glasgow and Clyde Contractors' Committee becomes Community Pharmacy Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
Also, for the first time, the organisation is giving associate members (non-contractors) the opportunity to be formally involved with these committees.
