The PDA Union has successfully argued for a nine-day extension to the voting period in the Boots union ballot.
The PDAU’s original request for an extension had been declined but the Central Arbitration Committee (CAC) agree to a longer voting period on Friday afternoon (May 18) amid concerns about the quality of address data provided by Boots to the CAC, says the PDAU.
Eligible pharmacists now have until noon on Friday June 1 to return their voting papers.
Mark Pitt, assistant general secretary of the PDA Union, commented: “We had been concerned that some people, including those on two weeks holiday, may have missed out entirely and we support the CAC’s decision to change the timetable as it will allow greater participation in this important decision.”
