The GPhC is to increase registration fees for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy premises from October 15.
The annual renewal fee for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians will rise by £10 to £250 and £118 respectively. Pharmacy premises will see a £20 increase to £241. The £15 fee for quarterly direct debits is to be removed. The move was necessary “to meet the growing costs of regulation caused by a number of factors, including a rising number of complaints. Even after the increase, [an individual’s] fees in 2016 will still be lower than in 2011,†says GPhC’s Duncan Rudkin.
