This module will increase your knowledge regarding the safe and effective use of insulin and how different insulins work. After completing it, you will be able to describe the key patient safety problems with insulin therapy in type 1 and type 2 diabetes, identify the different insulin types and regimens used, and support patients when insulin is introduced in type 2 diabetes. You will also be able to counsel patients on preventing and managing hypoglycaemia, and on the safe storage and use of insulin.
