Giles Pharmacy wins Alphega National Award

Giles Pharmacy in Warndon, Worcestershire has received the 2015 Alphega Pharmacy National Award.

Monika and Archie Unger, who run Giles Pharmacy, were honoured for their impressive customer care, exceptionally high standards, investment in staff facilities and focus on development. The pharmacy was selected out of 10 winners of the 2015 Alphega Pharmacy Regional Awards.

Giles Pharmacy offers a wide range of services, including NHS health checks, smoking cessation and flu vaccinations and became healthy living pharmacy (HLP) accredited earlier this year. The pharmacy recently underwent a major refit and the staff have been empowered with leadership training.

The husband and wife team have been presented with a cheque for £5,000 and one place for an all-expenses paid trip to the next Alphega Pharmacy Europe Convention.

Archie and Monika Unger said: “We are absolutely delighted to win the 2015 Alphega Pharmacy National Award. The staff and customers at our pharmacy mean the world to us and it’s incredibly gratifying that our hard work and effort has been recognised."

Sue Moore, General Manager of Health and Beauty and Alphega Pharmacy UK, said: “The Alphega Pharmacy National Award identifies pharmacies that go above and beyond to support their local communities and deliver essential services to improve the health and wellbeing of their customers.

"Monika and Archie Unger are committed Alphega members and extremely worthy winners who put great emphasis on giving back to the local community. We congratulate Giles Pharmacy for this accomplishment and wish them continued success.”

The 2016 Alphega Pharmacy Regional and National Award winners will be announced at 2016 Alphega UK Conference, which will be held on 14 and 15 May in Telford.
