A film crew last night filmed an advert for the Pharmacy First service at Crofton Pharmacy & Travel Clinic in Kent.
The crew braved the freezing cold in Orpington to shoot the film which it is thought will raise public awareness of the service in an attempt to get people to go pharmacies for advice and treatment if they are suffering from any of the seven conditions under the scheme; sinusitis, sore throat, acute otitis media, infected insect bite, impetigo, shingles and uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women.
Crofton Pharmacy & Travel Clinic was rebranded Get Well Sooner Pharmacy in the run-up to filming. The service starts on January 31.
Pharmacy owners who want to provide Pharmacy First must notify NHS England by completing an electronic registration through the NHS Business Services Authority’s Manage Your Service (MYS) portal.
