Managing the menopause

The module examines the way community pharmacy can support those going through the menopause.

This module describes the common symptoms caused by the menopause. It identifies how patients can be supported by pharmacy teams, the role that can be played by self-help activities and lifestyle changes, and the main resources that women can be directed to in order to enable these changes.

It also reviews the place of complementary therapies in management, when referral may be indicated and describes how hormone therapies available on prescription may be used.
