NICE has published nine quality standards covering GORD in children and young people. Among its findings NICE says €there is no evidence€ that acid-suppressing drugs, including PPIs or H2 receptor antagonists, reduce regurgitation in infants and children.
It concludes that €unnecessary use should be avoided€ and they should not be prescribed €if visible regurgitation is an isolated symptom.€
