The non-governmental organisation ARIA (Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma) recently published guidelines to help pharmacists provide advice, interventions and strategies to manage rhinitis.
The guidelines include a diagnostic questionnaire focusing on symptoms and disease markers, a systematic guide to aid diagnosis, a flowchart with proposed treatments and prompts for referral. The guidelines also cover using technology, such as an allergy diary for a smartphone, to enhance management.
