Well Pharmacy has overhauled one of its Cheshire branches as a 'pharmacy of the future' concept store with an extensive redesign and partnership with Holland & Barrett.
The chain said the new design for the Birchwood Shopping Centre branch was "carefully constructed to keep community at the heart" and focus on growing both NHS and private services, including a range of vaccinations and preventative health testing.
The store will offer a range of supplements, specialist foods and wellness products from Holland & Barrett in what Well described as a "combined offer that strengthens both clinical care and everyday wellness".
There will be more a "dedicated, open plan Pharmacy Only medicines area" and a separate counter where patients will receive "prompt one-to-one support" for common minor ailments.
The company said it has introduced an automated collection system to create more time for clinical services and consultations, as well as improving the "overall flow of the dispensary" so patients can collect routine prescriptions "quickly and independently".
The concept store will also offer clinical services from its two consultation rooms and "deliver more appointments each day," with these to include NHS vaccinations as well as a private offering for flu, pneumonia and travel.
Other services will include health screening, weight management programmes, male hair loss, ear wax removal and "expert advice on supplements and lifestyle," said the multiple.
Guy Farmer, chief commercial officer at Holland & Barrett, said: “We are excited to bring together two trusted health brands to create a new kind of customer experience - one that blends clinical expertise with holistic wellness.
"This partnership is an important milestone in our journey to make health and wellness accessible to everyone and to support them on their wellness journey."
Andrew Caplan, chief retail officer at Well Pharmacy, commented: “The new Birchwood branch represents the future of accessible, integrated health and wellness care on the high street. By combining Holland & Barrett’s trusted wellness offering with our clinical services and modern dispensing technology, we’re delivering a complete, patient-centred experience that meets everyday health needs and supports long-term wellbeing.”
