Arthritis Care hosts free lifestyle event

Arthritis Care is holding a free lifestyle event on living with arthritis in Manchester on Saturday 10 September 2016.

‘Living Well with Arthritis’ will take place at Manchester Metropolitan University’s Birley Campus, and is open to anyone with arthritis, as well as healthcare professionals with an interest in managing the condition.

A range of experts will be speaking at the event, including a community pharmacist, covering a number of topics, including: pain management, sleep, relationships, work and benefits, living aids and mobility.

The occasion will also give people with arthritis the opportunity to meet others with arthritis and find out more about local services.

Professor Philip Conaghan, Arthritis Care expert and Professor of Musculoskeletal Medicine at the University of Leeds, said: “Many people with joint pain think there is nothing that can be done to help with their arthritis, when in fact there is just about always something that can be done to help reduce joint pain, often without using medications.

“It’s great to see Arthritis Care leading the way with an event that is supporting people to live well with their arthritis.”
