NPA rallies support for #lovemypharmacy campaign

The National Pharmacy Association (NPA) was out in force today in central London to rally support for the newly-launched petition to the prime minister regarding pharmacy cuts.

Part of its new #lovemypharmacy campaign, NPA chairman Ian Strachan said one aim of the petition is to raise awareness and let the public know about the cuts and what impact it will have on them. And after just one morning of gathering support, they’d gained hundreds of signatures and were set to achieve hundreds more.

The NPA team, which included the likes of chief pharmacist Leyla Hannbeck, pharmacist and NPA board member Nick Kaye and CEO of Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster LPC Rekha Shah, alongside representatives of Pharmacy Voice and PSNC, intensified their efforts by campaigning outside Skipton House, the Department of Health headquarters (pictured).

Raj Patel, NPA board member and superintendent pharmacist of Mount Elgon Pharmacy in Wimbledon, explained that he and his staff have been gathering a lot of support in their pharmacy and his local MP is visiting the pharmacy this afternoon to see for himself the extent to which the local community is backing the pharmacy.
