New BLF resources for the pharmacy team

The British Lung Foundation (BLF) has produced two new resources aimed at helping pharmacists and their teams best support patients with respiratory problems.

Questions to ask your respiratory patients is a simple guide to act as a prompt when talking to patients with a respiratory condition and focuses on their understanding of their medicines, including inhaler technique, as well as promoting healthy lifestyles, including tobacco reduction, healthy eating and exercise.

Supporting your respiratory patients is an introductory document to let pharmacy teams know about the role of the BLF and how the organisation can help them, and includes statistics on respiratory problems, signposting to BLF resources and training and networking opportunities for pharmacy.

As well as these new resources, BLF offers other resources and support to patients, healthcare professionals and commissioners, which are available on its website.
