The management of atrial fibrillation

Goals and learning objectives

This module provides an overview of the current management of atrial fibrillation (AF) with the focus on optimising anticoagulation to reduce the risk of AF-related stroke. It describes the key interventions in the medical management of AF and how both stroke risk and bleeding are determined in a patient with AF.

After reading this module you should be able to develop your own plan for a patient centred consultation to support safe anticoagulation for AF.
