Introduction

Recommendations about healthy living, including a good diet and exercise, have been promoted for many years.

It was often assumed that filling ‘information deficits’ among the public would be sufficient. However, behavioural science research has shown a more complex picture that explains why, despite understanding weight management principles, people often struggle to apply them in their everyday life.
