Last year's Which? report on community pharmacy was robust and statistically significant, its principal health researcher told delegates.
The scenarios are co-designed by pharmacists to be realistic and those who conduct the pharmacy visits are trained in what to say and how to respond in various situations, said Joanna Pearl. The number of visits are calculated so they are representative of the sector. The fact that the same results have been obtained several times over a decade prove a trend that independents provide inferior advice to multiples and MCAs are not as thorough in their questioning as pharmacists.
€We don't just pick on pharmacists; we have done similar exercises on dentists, opticians and even GPs,€ she said.
