Superdrug has opened a new concept store focusing on healthcare and wellbeing in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
Following extensive customer feedback, the 5,000 sq.ft. store has been re- designed to include an accessible dispensary with cutaway counters, three consultation rooms and an electronic queue management system. Health and wellbeing represents 70 per cent of the OTC stock.
The store has doubled its number of healthcare staff and invested in a second pharmacist and a healthcare nurse.
Besides the core pharmacy services, it will offer access to Marie Curie nurses for pall- iative care support, baby sensory classes and a travel health clinic.
Superdrug plans to roll out the concept to other stores, with the next one due to launch in Watford this summer, supported by learning from the Banbury project.
€This is what the future of healthcare on the high street should look like,€ Steve Gray, Superdrug healthcare director, told Pharmacy Magazine.
