Numark has launched a training package to enable members to deliver medicines management training to care homes. The training comprises three modules:

• The supply of medicines
• The administration of medicines
• Legal requirements and responsibilities associated with administering medication.

On completing the training, there is a two-step assessment process with certificates to confirm competence at each stage.

The training pack includes a trainer manual and A3 presenter at a cost of £70. Trainee manuals and certificates are available in packs of five at £75. The resources can be ordered online via NumarkNet.

In addition to the written resources the Numark team is also available to deliver the first training session on behalf of members so that they can observe and build their confidence.

The training materials complement the existing Care Homes Toolkit from Numark and the training, which incorporates the latest NICE guidance, is accredited by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
