The number of students sitting and passing the November registration assessment increased last month.
The General Pharmaceutical Council said 1,174 trainee pharmacists sat the assessment on November 11 and 722 of those passed, equating to 62 per cent of students.
That compared with 667 of 1,146 students who passed the November 2024 assessment at a pass rate of 58 per cent.
Last month, 360 of the 602 first-time sitters who the assessment passed, 300 of 439 students who sat it for the second time passed and 62 of 133 third-time sitters were successful.
In 2023, 700 of 1,067 students passed the registration assessment at a 66 per cent pass rate, while 525 and 584 students passed the 2022 and 2021 assessments respectively, producing pass rates of 56 and 61 per cent.
The assessment for trainee pharmacists is held jointly by the GPhC and Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland.
