PEPS suspended for new applications

The Pharmacy Earlier Payment Scheme (PEPS) has been suspended until further notice for new contractors wishing to join from March 18. However, applications received up to and including March 17 will be processed as usual, says the NHS Business Services Authority.

This change is not reflected in the latest Drug Tariff, PSNC points out.

Greensill, the financial partner in the advance payment scheme, collapsed earlier this month.

The Department of Health and Social Care issued the following statement at the time: “Pharmacy contractors will continue to be paid. We are aware of developments with Greensill Capital and are in discussions to determine the next steps. We will provide an update when these have been finalised.”
