Community Pharmacy Scotland is to investigate users’ expectations and experiences of its minor ailments service. The aim of the research is to provide robust and rigorous data on the value of community pharmacy services as perceived by the users.
The research will be carried out by Dr Lee Boag, a CPS-funded research fellow who has recently taken up a joint post at Robert Gordon University and the University of Strathclyde.
All community pharmacies in Scotland will be invited to take part. This will involve handing a questionnaire to each individual accessing MAS and receiving a product. The questionnaire will be returned by the user to the university, who will then follow-up to see the outcomes of the treatment.
It is anticipated that the project will start within the next three months. More information will be provided by CPS in due course.
