CPD changes: keep calm and carry on...

The General Pharmaceutical Council has unveiled its plans to improve the CPD call and review process but says the current requirements remain in place for the moment.

Following an independent review of CPD arrangements earlier this year, the changes the GPhC is looking to introduce include:
€¢ Modifying and simplifying the recording requirements for CPD entries
€¢ Improving online recording to make it more accessible and simpler to do
€¢ Consulting next year on specific proposals to introduce a random sampling approach.

€We believe that the changes ... will significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the CPD call and review process as well as the experience of registrants recording their CPD,€ says Duncan Rudkin, GPhC chief executive. €But I want to be very clear that pharmacy professionals must still continue to undertake and record their CPD during this time.€

Pharmacy's regulator is now considering how to manage the transition to the new arrangements.
