Independent chain sells two of its smaller branches

Peaks Pharmacy, a UK-wide chain with over 150 branches across the UK, has sold two of its smaller pharmacies in the Midlands, broker Christie & Co has announced.

The two pharmacies, one in Little Eaton and the other in Burton-on-Trent, both dispense around 2,800 items per month.

The Little Eaton pharmacy was sold to local first-time buyer Mohamed Wasim Gul, while the Little Eaton branch was sold to Amul Telrandhe, who owns Derwent Pharmacy in Derby. They were sold leasehold and freehold respectively through asset sales, with both going for undisclosed prices.

Christie & Co’s Carl Steer commented: “The sale of small pharmacies can sometimes prove challenging. However, we are seeing a resurgence in demand for pharmacies dispensing below 4,000 items.

“Both pharmacies attracted multiple offers and were placed under offer shortly after launching to the market. It was particularly pleasing to sell a second pharmacy to Amul after we sold him his first pharmacy – Derwent Pharmacy – a few years ago.”
