Suicide awareness from CPPE

In Latest

The Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) has launched a suicide awareness learning video to coincide with World Suicide Prevention Day (10 September).

The video aims to encourage pharmacy professionals to reflect on what their role in suicide prevention currently is and what it could be, especially in light of the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework for 2019/20 to 2023/24 commitment to suicide prevention training. The video and its accompanying learning can be accessed on the CPPE website.

Dr Hayley Gorton, senior lecturer in pharmacy practice at the University of Huddersfield, said: “This is the first suicide awareness raising programme in the UK designed specifically for pharmacy staff and informed by our pharmacy practice research. We implore our colleagues to reflect on what their role could be in the collaborative efforts to reduce suicide."
