Alliance employees raise £13k for cancer charity with kayak challenge

Alliance Healthcare employees have raised over £13,000 for cancer charity Breast Cancer Care through completing a three-day kayak trek along the River Thames.

The team, made up of 15 Alliance colleagues, set off from Oxford on Friday 14 September and finished up at Royal Windsor having covered over 60 miles by kayak.

Breast Cancer Care community fundraiser Charlotte Sills said: “The funds raised by Alliance Healthcare through this phenomenal challenge will really make such a positive difference and we sincerely thank each and every member of the Challenge Team for their immense efforts.”

Alliance Healthcare trading manager Keith Simmons said: “None of us have prior kayak experience so to have completed this challenge is amazing, I am so proud of our achievement, we kept going and paddling from lock-to-lock and even reached the finish line 30 minutes ahead of schedule!”
