Smokefree campaign to launch in New Year

Public Health England (PHE) will be launching its Smokefree January campaign again in the New Year to drive motivation to quit smoking, and pharmacies across England are being encouraged to get involved.

PHE is inviting pharmacists to help distribute Quit Cards to smokers in support of wider smoking cessation activity that they may have planned for January. The Quit Cards, which are available to pharmacies free of charge, provide a great conversation starter with customers, highlight the range of Smokefree support tools available and are an easy way to introduce smoking cessation services.

According to Government statistics, nearly one in five adults smoke and there are around 90,000 regular smokers aged between 11 and 15. Smoking causes 17 per cent of all deaths in people aged 35 and over.

You can place an order for 25 Quit Cards and a POS toolkit by calling 0300 123 1019. The order line will be open Monday to Friday, from 8am to 6pm, until 19 December 2015, or whilst stocks last.
