Pfizer Healthy Partnerships launches NMS toolkit

Pfizer Healthy Partnerships has launched the New Medicine Service (NMS) Toolkit to help community pharmacy teams support patients with long-term conditions to better understand their condition and medicines.

Endorsed by Pharmacy Voice and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS), the toolkit has been developed in direct response to feedback and requests for training and support to the Pfizer Healthy Partnerships team.

The new resource provides suggestions and advice on how to deliver the service and maximise the value to patients. It includes a set of communication materials to help pharmacy teams explain the benefits of the NMS to patients and other healthcare professionals.

Commenting on the launch of the toolkit, Pharmacy Voice chief executive Rob Darracott said: “With the challenges currently facing the community pharmacy sector, providing practical support and assistance to frontline pharmacy teams has never been more important.

"After five years, the new medicines service is now a central part of community pharmacists’ daily work supporting medicines optimisation, patient safety and person-centred care.

"This new toolkit will help build confidence in those who are new to delivering the services while offering more experienced pharmacists a chance to take a look at their service from a fresh approach.”
