Numark has introduced a generics purchasing scheme called Numerics that benchmarks net prices for over 1,350 lines against the major full- and shortliners in the market. Additional tiered discounts based on monthly spend are also available.

Members will be able to buy all their generics from their Numark wholesaler and benefit from a maximum 10 per cent rebate on qualifying products, director of commercial operations, Raj Nutan, announced at his company’s Buenos Aires convention.

“Numerics is a complete solution… with no affiliation to any one brand or manufacturer,” said Mr Nutan. “The objective is to get the best price for every molecule through Numark’s buying power while encouraging and incentivising our members to buy all their generics through us rather than shopping around.” This would enable them to spend more time with patients, he added.

A Numerics Plus offer allows pharmacists with existing Teva or Actavis accounts to top up with the generic lines they do not have through the scheme.
