Lampeter store wins LloydsPharmacy of the Year

A LloydsPharmacy branch in Lampeter, Wales, has been crowned ‘Pharmacy of the Year’ at the company’s annual awards on June 29, at Whittlebury Hall, Buckinghamshire, sponsored by GSK.

After winning their regional heat, Lampeter was one of just seven stores to reach the final of the competition, which was open to all 1,500 pharmacies in the LloydsPharmacy network.

The team impressed the judging panel with a moving 30-minute presentation, which focused on the Dementia Friends scheme and Celesio UK’s partnership with Alzheimer’s Society and demonstrated their community and patient centred approach.

Winning pharmacist Dee Jolly commented: “We’re overjoyed! Winning is such a fantastic achievement for our little Welsh village and it still hasn’t sunk in yet.”

Celesio UK managing director Cormac Tobin said: “The Lampeter team is a perfect illustration of the intangible value of pharmacy. Not only are they a high performing store, but they go the extra mile for our customers and have established really strong, intimate links within the village.

"It’s great to see them following in the football team’s footsteps by doing Wales proud.”
